Peening Overview
Dr. John Cammett
Are you fairly new to the world of shot peening? This introductory class explains the history and basic theory of peening as well as examples of common reasons to peen.
09:10
10:05
Media Specifications
Jack Champaigne
Peening media makes the dents and provides the compressive stresses we need. This class examines the acceptable forms of media as well as proper media selection, inspection and maintenance.

10:20
Morning Break Beverages and snacks are provided to attendees.
10:20
11:15
Peening Process Parameters
Jack Champaigne
Gather the parameters that influence the peening process and the peening results in this interacting class. Gain sensitivity to ensure process reliability and repeatability.
Prozessparameter beim Kugelstrahlen
Volker Schneidau
11:20
12:15
Peening Intensity Basics
Jack Champaigne
This class introduces the concept of peening intensity and how it is measured. The saturation curve and the 10% rule is explained along with guidelines for new set-ups and verification trials.
Grundlagen der Intensität
Volker Schneidau

Coverage and Masking
Jack Champaigne
Coverage, too much or too little can be detrimental. Learn how to measure and control coverage by evaluating samples of % covered. Also discuss masking materials and techniques.
Bedeckungsgrad und Maskierung
Volker Schneidau
