About Electronics Inc.

Electronics Incorporated (EI), located in Mishawaka, Indiana, USA, manufactures and distributes products that improve the quality and control of shot peening and blast cleaning processes. The EI product line includes flow controls, monitors, MagnaValves®, Almen gages and certified Almen test strips. EI currently holds 14 U.S. Patents relating to shot peening control technology. EI's products are used worldwide in aerospace, automotive, medical, and many other manufacturing applications.

Electronics Inc. was founded in 1974 by Jack Champaigne with products for the air pollution control industry. In 1978 EI furnished the shot flow measurement and MagnaValve controls to Wheelabrator Corporation on a project for Boeing Commercial Airplane Co, in Seattle Washington. EI then decided to focus on the shot peening and abrasive blast cleaning market segments and continued to develop products and services to an ever-growing industry.

Unable to find suitable advertising opportunities for the MagnaValve EI started its own publication, The Shot Peener, which now has a readership circulation of over 4,000 readers in 45 countries. To help underwrite the cost of the newsletter EI started selling Almen strips, introducing the concept of graded strips to meet the needs of various market segments (automotive, aerospace etc).

Hoping to further assist the industry growth EI introduced annual Workshops for Shot Peening and Abrasive Blast Cleaning in 1991. The EI Education Division offers workshops in the U.S., Europe, Asia, Canada, and Mexico. EI is a FAA approved source for shot peening training and over 100 FAA inspectors have benefited from EI specialized training. In 1994 EI initiated The Shot Peener of the Year recognition program to help celebrate the achievements of pioneers in the industry.
