Abstract:
Samples of carburized steel 20CrMnTi a,b,c,d,e and f, were differently shot-peened, then studied by x-ray diffraction, mechanical and physical measurement. The obtained macroscopic and microscopic parameters are listed in Table 1. We suggested that the summation of macrostress +_(mac), microstress +_(mic) and fragmentation work density +_(w), caused by shot-peening, would be determinative for fatigue properties.
