Abstract:
INTRODUCTION: Component designers can assess whether or not their components have the capability for service improvement by shot peening. The extent of such improvement can be termed component ‘peenability’. More than 90% of moving engineering components are made of steel. The ‘peenability’ of steel components depends mainly on two factors: (1) Service Conditions and (2) Steel Composition.
