Abstract:
This specification establishes the requirements for compression shot peening of metal parts using metallic shot for the purposes of increasing fatigue life and inhibiting
stress corrosion cracking. It establishes requirements similar to MIL-S-13165 and AMS 2430. Other processes meeting the requirements of MIL-S-13165 or AMS 2430 may not be
used by processors in lieu of this specification.

and BAC 5730-2, except as noted herein. When no method is called out on the Engineering drawing this specification shall apply. When specified, the dash numbered
specification takes precedence over this specification.
