Abstract:
Shot peening with metallic shot or P.S. 900-4, No. 03 Glass Bend peening engine components as appropriate.
Peening is a process by which either cast steel shot or glass beads are impacted agianst the subject metal part inducing residual compressive stress in the surface. This
residual stress provides an increase in fatigue life and resistance to stress corrosion cracking.
