Abstract:

To improve the estimation method of fatigue life based on Modified Miners Rule, influence of mean load and fatigue characteristics under actual service load condition were
investigated. As a result, defined Load conversion factor and correcting factor (real life/calculated life) could be set up in accordance with load types and part shapes.
A practical estimation method of fatigue life using these factors was developed. Meanwhile welding joints often have minimum fatigue strength in chassis components, so
improvement techniques of endurance reliability on welding joints were investigated. As a result, controlling of the start and end points of weld line, appling of shot
peening etc were found to be effective methods.
