Abstract:
(a) This specification establishes the requirements for compression shot peening of metal parts using metallic shot for the purposes of increasing fatigue life and inhibiting stress corrosion cracking. (b) This specification establishes requirements similar to MIL-S-13165, AMS 2430 and AMS 2432. (c) Other processes meeting the requirements of MIL-S-13165, AMS 2430 or AMS 2432 shall not be used in liew of this specification. (d) This specification forms a part of BAC 5730-1 and BAC 5730-2. When no method is called out on the engineering drawing this specification shall apply. When specified, the dash numbered specification takes precedence over this specification. (e) This specification rquires certified personnel.
