Abstract:
A shot peening method for gears capable of hardening a gear without formation of projections on the tops of its teeth and gears having no projections and treated by this
shot peening method are provided. After a preliminary shot has been performed to harden the top of a tooth of the gear by shooting only at the top of the tooth using an air
nozzle, a bottom land shot is performed by shooting shots at a bottom land in a substantially perpendicular direction thereto with an air nozzle, whereby the gear is
entirely hardened.
