Hello Jack,
Is there compensation required to a hole diameter prior to shot peeining? I have a part that has a drawing callout of .501/.502 dia hole before cadmium plating (.0003-.0005 thick)& .500 dia min after plating. Will shot peen build up material? If so, how much do I compensate? Shot peen process is :
.010 A2 - .014 A2 shot size SAE 230, 2.0 coverage. Material: 4340M, Heat Treated 275-300 KSI. Also, should I put a chamfer or radius around the holes?
Thank you,
