Hi;
our machine: air-blast; S230; 4 nozzles,spraying a platform, mounted on an arm controlled by CNC[X,Y,Z,C(roating)].

question:
the CNC program character,used to peen PVT, shall be reflected on components?
for example:
when developing suturation curve using a PVT, the program was written as "X0->X100 accompanied with C0->C90"
when peening components,using another program which sprays a larger area, may i write the program as "X->X400 accompanied with C0->90"?

The saturation curve developed represents your intensity, which is independent of machine travel and peening time. (The old adage "intensity is not coverage".) As long as pressure, shot flow, and other parameters affecting intensity are maintained the same, whether the machine travels from 0 to 100 or 0 to 400 does not have an affect on PVT for intensity.

Thanks for your reply, Charlie.

It is clear that travel do not affect intensity. but,what about rotating,the rotating speed?
(C0->90)/400mm makes the same intensity as (C0->90)/100mm (all other parameters not changed)?

Think of things that affect intensity and determine if any of those factors in your process are changing while the machine is rotating. These include: stand off distance, air pressure, media flow.
If you are using an intensity verification fixture, you may decide to place an almen strip at a location that is peened during machine rotation.

What may be affected by changing rotation and/or rotation speed is exposure time and therefore time to required coverage. You should take this under consideration when developing your process.
