Our shop shot peens a variety of parts and presently use pvc tape to cover the p/n and s/n of each part to keep from blasting the numbers away.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what else to use to cover the p/n and s/n?
Occasionally the tape will blow off when hard intensities (16A) are being shot and if the shot is at an angle other than 90 deg. Straight shots at high intensities are not a problem and the tape usually holds up.
We have thought about using hard masking but when you shoot hundreds of different parts, it is not economical to get hard masking for every single part.
