Hi,
I'm currently looking at the SAE J442 spec for Almen holder, and I see that the dimensions are in mm. In order to have blocks fabricated, can I assume that the required 76.4mm min in length is 3.000 in in imperial units? In other words, is there an "english units" version of the SAE J442 or I have to assume that 76.4mm = 3.008 in ?

Thanks!

SAE went to metric several years ago. The older MIL-S-13165, now AMS-S-13165, still uses english (inch) measures but without mention of tolerances. 13165 is in process of review and either the inch or metric J442 versions will be allowed.
