Hello everyone,

I am pretty new to the whole Shot Peening world. We have recently moved one of our shot peen machines from one location to another and I have been tasked to get it up and running correctly. One thing i have noticed is the majority of the shot that was being used at the other location and now here is very magnetic. Our locations are supposed to purchase ss cut wire but I can not verify that this was done. Needless to say are there any ways to demagnetize the shot media? Or will i just need to start over with new SS cut wire?

Thank you

The SS cut wire will transform into a magnetic condition. You can pass it over a plate degaussing unit several times to demagnetize it.

The magnetism of 304 stainless steel is relatively weak, a new type material called No-magnetic 304 stainless steel cut wire, which can keep low magnetism
