I have a potential overseas customer that wants to perform peening on a Pelton Runner style hydro blade to reduce/prevent cavitation damage.

Their simple question was "what Almen strip do we need?" That alone could be a simple answer if they provide the intensity requirement, which they haven't yet. Instead they've told me the blade's material attributes:

13Cr 4Ni @ 34.5HRc

In anticipation of their asking for me to provide an intensity target I'm asking for input here. Of course I'm not sure they'll know what to do with the strips when they get them, so directions to the next seminar will accompany my reply.

Can anyone with experience with this material (or similar) suggest an intensity target?
