Can anyone recommend a nozzle size for internal peening, capable of coping with 780 (2.4mm) cut wire shot.

In addition any info on pressure/flow rates v intensities

Hi Jack Champaigne,

This is unusual, I do not recall ever working with a Shot Peening application using S-780 shot.
S-550 shot is the largest that I recall using for Shot Peening.
The lance would have to be special made, I would suggest starting with a minimum of one half inch I. D.

Many thanks for your response Jack. I to honest I am a little surprised by the comment as S-780 is specified on our customers specification, whom are a global entity, thank many shot peening organisation will be (sorry, should be) adhering to!

Can anyone make any comment for determination of the minimum inner and outer diamater of a rotary lance nozzle to do;

1) proper steel shot peening process using S230 (CCW28) media and S170 (CCW14) media and

2.) proper glassbead peening process using Size #5 and Size #12 glassbead media?
