We have a problem with receiving saturation at 2T for ceramic bead peen. We received a new machine, where the parts are located horizontally on the rotatng table. We have 16 nozzles which make 100 cycles/min horizontally.
At T we receive very good intensities (very close values for all strips). At 2T we have also very close results, but there is 15-20% increase of intensities which is not permitted. We tried to peen at different pressures, part to nozzle diastances and speed of table, but without any result.
Please advise.

By definition T is a peening time such that at 2T the intensity has increased by 10%. It therefore seems that the problem lies with determining T in the first place. Are you using a computer-based program to estimate T?

It is not a problem with determining T. The cycle seems to be very long (0.05 RPM - about 20 min for table rotation). At this speed we obtain very good saturation, but it limits our production. Can we improve the situation by change of distances, spped and pressure?

How are you measuring T? In principle you can solve your original (2T) problem by increasing shot flow rate and reducing shot velocity.
What do you mean by "very good saturation"?

1. It seems from the last check that the media flow is not stable (impulsive). It may be the reason. How to solve this problem?
May be to increase the nozzles diam. and diam. of pipes?

2. Good saturation means increase of intensity for 5 - 8% (we check 7 strips).

3. For shot peening (cast shot 110 and 170) its much easier to get saturation (we have not problems with it).
