Could anybody please let me know if there is any published data on the relationship between peening intensities, the cross sectional area of component being peened and distortion of the component being peened.
I'm particually interested in minimum material thicknesses of case hardened steel that will NOT distort for the following peening intensities:
6-10A, 110 hard steel shot
8-12A, 110 hard steel shot
12-16A, 230 hard steel shot
14-18A, 230 hard steel shot
18-22A, 230 hard steel shot
I would be very grateful if you could supply the information or direct me to it.
Many thanks.

Gary, You can retrieve a copy of MIL-S-13165 from our web site http://www.shotpeener.com/learning/spec.htm and there you will find a table of maximum intensities for shot sizes. You might be able to interpolate to relate to the values that you require.
