Dear Jack,
I am trying to find out if there is any information available that compares the effectiveness of abrasive blasting with aluminum oxide to glass or ceramic bead peening as gall preventitive treatments for threaded parts. In particular with regard to externally threaded oil field equipment with a Cr content greater than 9%
Sincerely,
David Hirth

Has David tried Baking Soda on the threads? Glass Bead, Alum Oxide, and Ceramic will all eventually reduce surface metal even with lower pressures. Baking Soda could work if the material he wants to clean isn't very hard to take off?
