I am using a shot peening machine to peen diesel engine connecting rod forging with SS460 steel shot. In the recent past, the dust collector was damaged by fire and all the bags were damaged. We suspect that the fire could be due to ignition of the bags by sparks carried from the shot peening machine chamber through the suction ducts. Please suggest a permanent solution for the problem.

The continuous flow of media, in your case continuous flow of rejected media will produce electro-static conductivity which will ignite sparks.
Connect earth to your dust collector.
