A customer peening aluminum 2014 and 7050 was using AMS-2431 cut wire shot which should have a hardness range of 45-52. When he tested hardness he discovered it was registering in the 56-57 range. Will the aluminum parts get a different peening treatment with the harder material if the customer adjusts his machine and runs saturation curves to maintain the required intensity?
ams-2431 /3 hardness is 45-52
ams 2431 /8 hardness is 55-65
