Is there any information available on the risk of silicosis when peening with glass beads? Of course operators should wear proper protection, but it may be difficult to prevent inhaling dust from the glass beads completely. Since the beads are made from silica, I can imagine that there is a risk of getting silicosis, just like sand blasting operators.
