INTRODUCTION For both peeners and customers, coverage is of vital importance. Our central problem is to be able to predict and control coverage so as to reach a specified level. It is not sufficient, however, to reach the specified coverage at just one location. Different locations, subject to greater amounts of peening, would then suffer excessive peening.
