Hi Jack,
I would like clarifiaction regarding go-no-go gages. We are using 3/8" orifice nozzles for our automated shot peen machine. The first question the Nad CAp auditor asked me was how are you making sure your nozzles are in spec. I told him with a go-no-go gage. That was the correct answer but what are the requirements of the gage with respect to a 3/8" nozzle?
Thanks Jack,
Sue

Sue,
I'm not aware of any "requirements". It's up to the user, or the customer, to determine the methods and apparently since you have a system in place with the go-no-go gage you're in good shape.

Nozzles should be within 15% of the nominal diameter. Airjets within 10%.

We check 3/8" nozzles with a .4125" pin if it does not go in it passes, if it does then check it with a .430" pin if it goes the nozzle fails.
