The only industry standard acceptance criterion that I am aware of is as follows: Measured peening intensity must lie within the range specified by the customer. Hence, for example, if a customer specified 10-14C then a measured intensity of 15C would not satisfy that criterion. Unless there is something wrong with my maths 15 does not lie within the range 10-14! The process variables yielding 15C should be adjusted so as to aim for the middle of the customer's specified range. For 10-14C that would be 12C.
