4.2.2 Test Strip Specimens: A test strip specimen is an Almen test strip used to measure "intensity". At least two test strip specimens conforming in dimensions and mechanical properties to figures 1,2 or 3 shall be used for each intensity determination at each location.

During a recent audit, the auditor wrote us up for only having one test strip used for each location during a production run.

I tried to explain that four test strips are used during the initial process qualification and two test strips are used during production. These strips would be the one at the beginning and one at the end of lot for each location. The strips are run at the T1 time. (we are shot peening less than 8 hours of run time)

The auditor interprets 4.2.2 to say two strips shall be run at T1 for each location.
