Currently we use 330H shot to peen case hardened steel that is Rc60. The thought being that the shot should be as-hard-as or harder than the part being peened. However, the hard shot seems the fracture and breakdown quickly. Can Rc60 steel be peen with unhardened or at least softer shot than 330H?
