Abstract:
The results of controlled peening tests performed on 0.5% C steel workpieces are described. It has been found that peening results in a better surface finish, hardness and low coefficient of sliding friction along with higher load-carrying capacity. Descriptors: Carbon steels-- Surface finishing; Shot peening; Machining; Surface finish
